introduction

Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled in CNC Machining and Injection molding

Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with the chemical name PA Polyamide Type 6/6.

It is a stronger and more rigid type of extruded Nylon 6/6 due to the addition of glass reinforcement. This makes the material better at withstanding pressure and friction. Unlike Nylon 6 (Cast grade), it can be extruded into various shapes like rods, tubing, and sheets. Custom shapes like hexagonal, square, and profiles are also available.

This material is known for its toughness and electrical insulating properties. It has good abrasion resistance and is usually used for fittings, pins, bushings, and structural components. With a low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CoTE) and improved wear resistance, it is an excellent choice for electrical insulating, bearing, and wear components. Machining Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled into precision parts using standard metalworking equipment is easy. Tolerances of +/- 0.005mm can be achieved with experience, although faster tool wear may occur due to the glass content.

FAQ

Machining Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled Buying FAQ

Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled is a reinforced nylon material with glass fibers added to enhance its strength and stiffness. While it is not as lightweight as some non-reinforced plastics, it is generally lighter than metals such as steel.
Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled is known for its strength and rigidity due to the added glass fibers. While it may have some flexibility, it is not typically easy to bend compared to more flexible plastics. The glass fillers contribute to its overall stiffness and resistance to deformation.
Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled is not inherently waterproof. It is a hygroscopic material, meaning it can absorb moisture over time. While it may resist water to some extent, prolonged exposure or immersion in water can affect its properties. For applications requiring water resistance, additional coatings or treatments may be necessary.
Yes, Nylon 6/6 30% Glass Filled is known for its strength and durability. The added glass fibers significantly enhance its mechanical properties, making it stronger and more rigid than unfilled nylon.
